In response to the lawsuit against her former label boss, Ezekiel ThankGod, better known by his stage as Eezee Concept, Nigerian gospel singer Mercy Chinwo has issued a statement through her attorneys.
Chinwo described her experience working with the music producer, from beginning as his background vocalist to becoming his client, in a press release that she shared on her Instagram page.

The single mother further stated that although she signed her first contract in 2017, the dates were subsequently rescheduled to 2019.

Eezee Concept suggested extending her original five-year contract to twelve years, according to Chinwo. But she told him she had other arrangements, so she declined.

Chinwo states that after four years of the contract, the relationship deteriorated and she experienced emotional and verbal abuse.

Chinwo alleged that Eezee Concept would use statements such as “I will deal with you, I will mess you up, I made you who you are. I can shut you up, and nobody will hear you again, and I will destroy your career.”

Mercy Chinwo further claimed that the label owner had exaggerated her availability to those who were inviting her to events.

She maintained that she never sued Eezee Concept to get her catalog and that she just wanted him to make public the first three pages and the execution page of the 2017 contract she signed, which he allegedly changed.
