Oba Adebayo Adesanmi Ademeso, the Ologotun of Ogotun Ekiti, and the entire Ologotun-in-Council have expressed their profound shock and sorrow over the death of Justice Edward Adepoju Ojuolape, a retired Acting Chief Judge of the former Ondo State, a great community leader, philanthropist, and moral compass.

At the ripe age of 98, Justice Ojuolape, a former Acting Chief Judge of the former Ondo State which included the present-day Ondo and Ekiti States passed away two days ago.

The Ologotun called the dead a pathfinder in a condolence message.

“The colossal judicial juggernaut was a great development mobilizer in the state, a political galvanizer in Ekiti State after leaving the bench, and a moral compass in both the Ondo and Ekiti State Judiciaries.”

Speaking on his passing, Oba Ademeso conveyed his profound sadness, calling the great community leader’s transition “a peaceful departure to eternal glory of a highly cerebral jurist and deeply loved community leader.” In retirement, he became the leader of the PDP Elders Forum.

The supreme monarch further praised the late jurist’s qualities in a poignant sympathy statement, calling him a tower of wisdom, honesty, and unshakable dedication to duty.

“The entire Ologotun-in-Council is saddened by this demise,” the royal father said.

According to him, “the late judge was a man of exemplary character, simplicity, and dedication who left an indelible legacy of service not only to his family and community but also to the two states of Ondo and Ekiti and the nation at large, particularly through his significant contributions to legal jurisprudence.”

“His impact will remain etched in the hearts of all who knew him, especially in Ogotun Ekiti, his hometown,” Oba Adebayo Ademeso remarked, reflecting on the amazing life of the late legal scholar. “His life was a testament to the values he upheld.” May he rest in eternal peace. Amen.

Hon. Justice Ojuolape was born on May 17, 1927, and on January 16, 2025, at the remarkable age of 98, he heeded the call of God. According to the royal father, his life and legacy will always be an inspiration to future generations.
