El-Rufai lamented the APC’s inability to address the problems it was founded to address, like as insecurity, economic instability, and corruption.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has come under fire from former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, who claims the party has abandoned its core values and is encouraging incompetent leadership.

El-Rufai called Nigeria’s present opposition and governance situation a “national emergency” while speaking at a national summit on strengthening democracy in Abuja.

El-Rufai highlighting the APC’s lack of internal democracy said, “No party organ has met in two years—no caucus, no NEC, nothing. You don’t even know if it is a one-man show; it’s a zero-man show.”

He attacked the leadership’s quality, blaming it on inexperienced delegates, saying, “You cannot afford to have illiterates, semi-illiterates, and cunning people as your leaders. This is why we end up with the poor leadership we have today.”

El-Rufai lamented the APC’s inability to address the problems it was founded to address, like as insecurity, economic instability, and corruption.

He claimed that the gap between him and the party was growing and that “The problems that led to the creation of the APC remain unresolved, but I no longer believe the APC is interested in addressing them,” he said.

“There are internal mercenaries in the PDP hired to destroy the party. The Labour Party faces similar issues,” Citing Peter Obi’s worries about the internal situation of his party.

Citing a poll that suggests 75% of voters may not cast ballots in the 2027 elections, he cautioned, “We don’t want military rule, but civilians behaving like the military in their babbar riga and suits is equally dangerous.”

El-Rufai called for quick action to stop history from happening again.
