Billionaire Elon Musk is not benefiting from running the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), according to US President Donald Trump.

This information was revealed in a brief preview of an interview with Fox News, set to air later today.

In the clip, Trump is asked whether he trusts Musk, the owner of X, who is currently leading DOGE, even though it is not an official government department.

The US President responded: “He’s not gaining anything,” and mentioned he would soon tell Musk to examine the Department of Education and then apply similar actions to the US military.

“We’re going to uncover billions, hundreds of billions, of dollars in fraud and waste,” Trump added.

Trump has previously supported Musk and DOGE in their mission to reduce costs across various government agencies.

Reports indicate that such agencies include the US Treasury Department and the US Agency for International Development (USAID).

DOGE took drastic steps by dismantling USAID, placing nearly all but around 600 of its 10,000-plus global staff on leave.
