The Walt Disney Company, also called Disney, is an American multinational mass media and entertainment giant. Billionaire businessman Elon Musk has stated his strong desire to purchase shares of Disney.
However, he stated that he would only do so if activist investor Nelson Peltz were elected to Disney’s board of directors.
Recall that Peltz lost a challenge to Disney’s board due to a majority of stakeholders voting against him.
Reacting, Musk, who was just appointed Chief Diversity Officer at Disney, said he thought Peltz had a lot to give the business based on his past performance.
There, he typed on his X handle, “Nelson Peltz should definitely be on the Disney board!
“He would help reform the company, improve the quality of product and generally serve in the best interests of shareholders, as he has done at many other companies.
“This would significantly improve Disney’s share price.
“While I don’t own any Disney shares today, I would definitely buy their shares if Nelson were elected to the board.
“His track record is excellent.”
