Emefiele: EFCC invades Dangote Head Office

On Thursday, officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, broke into the Dangote Group’s head office in Lagos.

TheCable reports that operatives of the anti-graft agency were looking into foreign exchange allocations made to the business when Godwin Emefiele was the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) governor.

Dele Oyewale, a spokesperson for the EFCC, declined to comment on the development.

Nonetheless, a Dangote staff member attested to the presence of EFCC agents at the business’ headquarters.

The employee stated, “They asked for documents on forex transactions with the CBN.”
