Edo shooting: Afenifere Director send strong warning to Peter Obi

Akin Fapoumda, the Director of Research for Afenifere (the leading Yoruba socio-cultural organization), cautioned 2027 presidential hopeful Peter Obi to safeguard himself, stating that his death would not have consequences.

He requested that the previous presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) guarantee that his death would have meaning.

After suspected assassins targeted a meeting of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Edo State, the motorcade of former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi was shot at.

During the official announcement of Akpata joining the ADC in Benin City, Obi and others were subjected to a brutal attack.

“Assassination is not a big deal when you are contesting power with people who are not civilized.”

”The Edo State Governor, whoever he is, I can’t pronounce his name, just has a village mentality. Oshiomhole just put him there, and he is doing his bidding.”

“Oyegun’s house is along the street, next to the government house…

“…If Peter Obi was shot, what would happen? Nothing will happen… Anybody who dies, just dies. Peter Obi better protect himself and not just die in vain,” he said.

“If he dies, nothing will happen. People will only protest for a few days, and nothing will happen…”
