The Executive Chairman of Nnewi North Local Government Area in Anambra State, Echezona Anazodo, has marked six months in office by empowering over 500 farmers and traders, including youths, in various ways. The local government also provided fertilisers and farming implements to prepare farmers for the 2025 farming season.

Anazodo disclosed this while briefing journalists at the council headquarters in Nnewi, stating that the empowerment and infrastructural projects cut across political divides. “Within this period of six months in office, my administration has provided good governance across the four corners of the council area,” he said.

He highlighted some of the achievements, including empowering over 200 youths in skills acquisition programs, purchasing JAMB forms for hundreds of indigent students, and reconstructing the Okpaka bridge. “The lock-up shops we provided are mainly for low-income traders like ice-fish and fufu sellers,” Anazodo added

The empowerment gestures were done in partnership with the “Nnewi Forum,” a group formed to support Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s vision for Anambra. Anazodo expressed satisfaction with the ongoing infrastructure developments in the state, saying his administration will continue to deliver dividends of democracy to the people.

He also announced plans to revalidate street naming, reward contributors to the area’s growth, and use internally generated funds to execute projects. Anazodo commended Governor Soludo for governing without borrowing and vowed to deliver 120% votes for the governor’s reelection bid
