The Overdeck Family Foundation has announced 52 second-quarter grants totaling $32.7 million. These grants focus on identifying and fueling cost-effective programs and solutions to accelerate improvement in academic and socioemotional outcomes for all children. The foundation’s grantmaking aims to support initiatives that drive meaningful change in education.
Through its Inspired Minds program, the foundation has awarded grants to several organizations. OpenSciEd received a $300,000 pilot grant to develop a measurement and evaluation strategy for its science curriculum. Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) was awarded a $250,000 pilot grant to launch a STEM programme quality improvement effort across 30 club sites. Ensemble Learning received $200,000 to study and enhance the effectiveness of its professional learning services for educators.
The foundation also made significant renewals and commitments. Zearn received $6 million over two years to increase the number of students using its math program. LENA was awarded $5 million over 30 months to support its professional development program, aiming to reach 115,000 children. The Next Education Workforce initiative at Arizona State University’s Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College received $4 million over three years to expand its teacher coaching model.
