This weekend marks the penultimate round of fixtures before the final international break of the season in the Premier League.
Naturally, this signals the crucial stage of the campaign.
The standout match of the weekend will be Arsenal’s visit to Manchester United on Sunday.
Before that intriguing clash at Old Trafford, there are a few matches that could potentially throw up unexpected results.
- Nottingham Forest vs Manchester City: The City Ground has proven to be a challenging venue for many teams this season. Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, one of the surprises of the campaign, are currently sitting in third place and will host the reigning champions in Saturday’s early kick-off. City have shown inconsistent form and could very well drop points against a team pushing for Champions League spots.
- Liverpool vs Southampton: For many, this match seems like a formality, with Liverpool expected to cruise to victory against the bottom-placed Saints at Anfield. However, Southampton has nothing left to fight for and could spoil the party, especially with Liverpool’s attention divided as they prepare for their Champions League second-leg tie against PSG.
- Chelsea vs Leicester City: Since Chelsea’s title challenge faded, their performances have become unpredictable. With key attacking players injured and Cole Palmer’s dip in form, it’s hard to know what Chelsea will show up. However, Leicester City poses a tricky challenge, capable of pulling off a surprise result.
