After Manchester United’s 3-2 victory over the Premier League leaders on Sunday, forward Matheus Cunha stated that Arsenal is the best team in the world.

Arsenal’s uncertain performance continued at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, with Mikel Arteta’s team losing 3-2 in a thrilling and tight contest.

The Gunners started the match with strength, taking the lead after Lisandro Martinez scored an own goal.

However, before the first half break, United equalized through Bryan Mbeumo.

In the 84th minute, Arsenal leveled the score when Mikel Merino headed in a corner, nullifying Patrick Dorgu’s remarkable goal.

Although it appeared that Arsenal had the upper hand, Carrick’s team advanced and achieved a rare win at the Emirates Stadium thanks to Cunha’s magnificent curled shot.

This outcome has diminished Arsenal’s Premier League lead to a mere four points, and Manchester United has ascended into the Champions League positions, surpassing both Liverpool and Chelsea.

Cunha expressed pride in the bravery United showed, noting they triumphed over Arsenal, the world’s top team.

“We defeated the best team in the world,” he told BBC Sport.

“I think we displayed strength and determination as a team. We know what to expect, come here, I really think this is the best team in the world right now.

“They’ve played with Mikel [Arteta] for a long time, so they know all his tactics and everything he feels. We know how tough it will be to come here, but we are united and everything we do is to win the games.”

Cunha stated regarding the effect Carrick has had since taking on the role of caretaker manager for United: “He understands the feeling because he played here for many years.”
