Arsenal have entered discussions to sign Francisco Trincao, a player also on Manchester United’s radar, as part of their summer plans under manager Mikel Arteta.
According to Portuguese publication Record, the North London club is one of three Premier League sides currently negotiating with Sporting CP for the 25-year-old winger.
Back in April, reports indicated that Trincao was among the top attacking options identified by Manchester United, with current Sporting boss Ruben Amorim having previously coached him at both Braga and Sporting.
Arsenal is said to have closely monitored Trincao throughout the current campaign, having scouted him extensively during his appearances for the Portuguese side.
The Portuguese international is set to enter the final two years of his contract with Sporting at the close of the season.
He previously played in the Premier League during the 2021–22 season while on loan at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Trincao moved to Sporting in 2023 on a permanent deal from Barcelona. However, the Catalan club secured a €25 million buyback clause, valid until next year, and retained a 50 percent sell-on clause as part of the transfer agreement.
