Erling Haaland of Manchester City, who has had an incredible start to the 2017 Premier League season, broke even another record when he scored a goal against Brentford.
Haaland gave City a 2-1 lead in the first half by scoring twice in quick succession.
The header from Yoane Wissa caused the champs to concede in an only 22 seconds.
Haaland scored his eighth and ninth goals of the current campaign.
Haaland also smashed a 13-year-old record that Wayne Rooney, a former Manchester United striker, had been holding.
Rooney’s eight goals for United in the 2011–12 Premier League season set the previous record for goals scored in a team’s opening four games.
After his hat-trick against the Hammers, Haaland had already shattered the record for most goals scored by a player in a team’s opening three Premier League games [7].
