Mohamed Salah, the lucky charm of Liverpool, has stated that a new contract between him and the Premier League team is “far away.”

After playing a key role in their 5-0 victory against West Ham on Sunday, Salah was interviewed by Sky Sports.

At the London Stadium, the Egyptian scored one goal and assisted on two more, giving Arne Slot’s team an eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League.

With 17 goals and 13 assists this season, Salah leads all Premier League players in both categories; but, as he approaches the last six months of his contract, his future is still up in the air.

When asked if he was any closer to providing a positive news on a new agreement, Salah responded, “We are far away from that. I don’t want to put something in the media and people start saying stuff, but nothing really has moved on. Now I am focused on the team and hopefully, we win the Premier League.”
