Former Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman has dismissed recent remarks made by ex-Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher regarding Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice.

Carragher, commenting after Arsenal’s 2-2 Premier League draw with Liverpool last weekend, suggested that Rice might begin to consider his future and possibly leaving the club if the Gunners end another season without silverware.

When asked to react to Carragher’s comments on the Seaman Says podcast, Seaman replied: “Wow. So we have not even finished this season and he is talking about [Arsenal] not doing anything next season… and then someone [ Declan Rice] might leave in the next season.

” No, I can’t believe that he [Jamie Carragher] has said something like that because I am excited about next season with Arsenal.

“They are getting better and better, they are contending consistently.”

He added, “We end up playing PSG that were a fantastic team so Declan will stay. There is no problem, not at all.”

Rice joined Arsenal from West Ham United in 2023 after beating Manchester City for his signature.
