Martin Odegaard, the captain of Arsenal, is the player Kai Havertz has identified as having assisted him in adjusting to life at the Emirates.
Havertz was one of many players who left Chelsea for their rivals, Arsenal, in the summer of last year.
The 24-year-old made a £65 million summer transfer to the Gunners, and in his first season at the Emirates, he has excelled.
He received a lot of backlash for leaving Stamford Bridge, though, and only gradually recovered at Arsenal.
With 50 games played across all competitions, the Germany international currently has 13 goals and 7 assists.
“The skipper, Martin (Odegaard). I remember I was on holiday when I signed and he just dropped me a message 10 minutes after the news came out and just said ‘whatever you need, just give me a shout’.
“He’s a top guy, and a very good friend,” Havertz told Sky Sports when asked which of his teammates made him feel most welcome.
