Former Watford attacker, Troy Deeney, has selected Liverpool right-back, Trent Alexander-Arnold, as the player of the weekend.

Deeney complimented the Englishman, who has been brutally lambasted by commentators recently, stating he could pay a great sum to watch him play.

He pointed out that during Liverpool’s 4-1 victory over Ipswich Town on Saturday, the England international stood out.

Mohamed Salah extended the Reds’ lead (35′) after Dominik Szoboszlai broke the tie in the 11th minute. In the 44th minute, Cody Gapko put the score at 3-0.

Gapko scored his second goal in the 65th minute with an assist from Alexander-Arnold, and Ipswich’s goal in the 90th minute was scored by Jacob Greaves.

In addition to recording one assist, Alexander-Arnold won five duels and maintained an 83 percent passing accuracy.

According to Deeney, the 26-year-old was the Premier League’s top player over the previous weekend.
