Cristiano Ronaldo, the captain of Portugal, may be disciplined by UEFA for allegedly engaging in “ambush marketing” during their Euro 2024 match against Slovenia.

Following the final sixteen matches, the wearable fitness technology startup WHOOP released Ronaldo’s heart rate statistics.

Ronaldo is a brand ambassador and investor for WHOOP.

The 39-year-old was seen with a WHOOP gadget hidden beneath a bandage on his left wrist, which provided the corporation with information about his heart rate.

WHOOP and Ronaldo are not recognised UEFA sponsors for Euro 2024.

Ricardo Fort, the former worldwide sponsorships president of Visa and Coca-Cola, has now requested UEFA to penalise them for the incident.

“This chart has been circulating today,” Fort wrote on X.

“Cristiano and WHOOP is ambush marketing to Euro 2024. It is illegal and both the player and the company should be fined.”
