Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has been handed a fitness boost with both Amad Diallo and Matthijs de Ligt returning to full training.

The duo’s recovery comes just in time for the team’s upcoming Europa League semi-final clash with Atletico Bilbao.

Diallo has been sidelined since February due to an ankle injury and was initially expected to miss the remainder of the season.

However, the 22-year-old Ivorian attacker may still have a role to play in the closing matches of the campaign.

Amorim’s squad is set to travel to San Mames this week as they continue their push for Champions League qualification.

On Wednesday, the club also welcomed the return of De Ligt to training after the Dutch defender spent weeks recovering from an ankle issue he picked up during United’s loss to Nottingham Forest at the beginning of the month.

Amorim confirmed that the center-back is “near” full match fitness and could be included in the squad for Thursday’s first leg against Bilbao.

While Diallo may not be risked for the away fixture, he is expected to be available for the second leg at Old Trafford on May 8.
