The new National Chairman of the National Rescue Mission (NRM), Chief Edozie Njoku, was sworn in as the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

As previously reported by ZINGTIE, chief Njoku left the APGA and became the National Chairman of the NRM after the party’s emergency national convention in Abuja on Friday.

Following Amb. Isaac Chigozie Udeh’s resignation during the convention, the former APGA chieftain was named the new National Chairman of the NRM.

According to ZINGTIE, Mr. Udeh resigned to become the party’s National Organising Secretary.

During Tuesday’s swearing-in and handover event in Abuja, Isaac Chigozie Udeh, the party’s former National Chairman and current National Organising Secretary, discussed his reasons for resigning in favour of Njoku.

He said, “The interest of the party supersedes any individualistic interests, and that is why I paid that price.

“That is why I made that sacrifice to ensure that this party is repositioned to the height that is required of it to win elections in this country.”

As previously reported by ZINGTIE, Njoku acknowledged his defeat and promised to abide by the ruling that acknowledged Sylvester Ezeokenwa as the APGA’s National Chairman.

This came when the Supreme Court accepted the Victor Oye-led party group, which was supported by Chukwuma Soludo, the governor of Anambra State.
