The Forum of former state chairmen of the now-defunct Congress for Progressives Change (CPC) has dismissed reports claiming it has endorsed former Vice President Atiku Abubakar for the 2027 presidential election.
In a statement jointly issued by the forum’s national chairman, Kasim Mabo, and national secretary, Sulaiman Oyaremi, the group described the reports as inaccurate and misleading.
They clarified that although a few ex-CPC chairmen recently paid a visit to Atiku, their actions do not reflect the official stance of the entire forum.
“Out of 37 members, just 16 have pledged allegiance to the former vice president,” the statement said.
“The remaining 20 are firmly committed to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Tinubu’s administration.”
