Former Nigeria international Sunday Mba has encouraged Ademola Lookman to consider joining Premier League giants Chelsea this summer.
Lookman is expected to leave Serie A club Atalanta at the end of the current season, though his next destination remains uncertain, with several top European clubs reportedly interested in him.
Mba believes that Stamford Bridge would be an excellent fit for the former Leicester City player.
“If I were a sporting director or manager at Chelsea, I would strongly pursue Lookman. I think it would be a great move for both him and the club, given his style of play,” Mba, who was part of Nigeria’s 2013 Africa Cup of Nations-winning team, shared with Africafoot.
“Chelsea should be the next step for Lookman because his playing style aligns well with what Enzo Maresca wants from his strikers. He’s quick, technically proficient, can dribble, create opportunities, and score goals. With all due respect, many Chelsea strikers find it difficult to display even two of those skills.”
It’s worth noting that Lookman, 27, was close to joining Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1 last summer, but the move fell through.
This season, Lookman has netted 12 goals and provided 5 assists in 20 league matches for Atalanta.
