Senator Isa Galaudu, a former governorship contender for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kebbi State during the 2019 elections, has officially parted ways with the party.

Galaudu, who served as the representative for Kebbi North in the Senate from 2011 to 2015 and later held the position of Chief of Staff to the Senate President, conveyed his resignation through a letter dated August 20, 2025. The letter was addressed to Alhaji Muhammadu Aliyu Danbuga, the PDP ward chairman in Augie North.

In the letter, he cited the current condition of the party as his reason for leaving, claiming it has come under the influence of figures aligned with the nation’s ruling party and has been “substantially obliterated.”

Galaudu was the PDP’s candidate in the 2019 gubernatorial race in Kebbi State.
