EXPOSED: Why El-Rufai visited Gowon after meeting SDP leaders, amid talks of plans to dump APC

Yakubu Gowon, the former military Head of State, was visited by Nasir El-Rufai, a former governor of Kaduna State.

On Tuesday, El-Rufai visited Gowon at his Abuja residence.

The meeting is coming up shortly after the All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftain met with SDP leaders for the second time.

The second visit intensified the former governor’s alleged plans to leave the APC.

Along with SDP chairman Shehu Musa Gabam and other party leaders, El-Rufai was seen at Senator Abubakar Gada’s residence in Abuja.

Senator Nazif Suleiman, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from Bauchi State, and Senator Teslim Folarin, the APC’s nominee for governor of Oyo State in the general elections of 2023, were also reportedly present at the meeting.

Following El-Rufai’s Ramadan iftar in his Abuja house, a meeting was held at Gada’s residence on Sunday night.

The National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, Kashim Ibrahim-Imam, Shehu Musa Gabam, and other people are present for the Ramadan iftar.

El-Rufai also visited the SDP secretariat in Gabam.
