The Federal Capital Territory’s infamous abduction kingpins have been apprehended by FCT command agents.

Police Public Relations Officer Josephine Adeh of the FCT command named the daredevil kidnappers as Muhammad Tahir of Jos, Plateau State, and gang boss Masud Abdullahi of Karu Local Government Area LGA of Nasarawa State.

According to Josephine, the arrest came after a counter-kidnapping operation on August 16.

In a statement, she clarified that the kidnappers had broken into the house of Barrister Henry Chichi, who was taken to an unidentified place after invading an estate in Karu, Abuja.

According to the PPRO, the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit acted quickly after receiving the information and applied tremendous pressure to the attackers.

On August 17, 2025, the victim was finally rescued as a result of the operation, she said.

She claimed that after the suspects’ car lost control, they were later located and apprehended near the Guraku axis of the Nasarawa-FCT Highway.

“While some of the gang members escaped, the gang leader, Masud Abdullahi, and his associate, Muhammad Tahir, were arrested.

“The suspects later led police operatives to their hideout in Karshi Forest, Nasarawa State, where one more gang member, identified as Kabiru Jibril, was arrested.

“Exhibits recovered from the hideout include: N7.4 million cash, Three AK-47 rifles with magazines, One G3 rifle with magazine, Sixteen rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition, One Tecno handset”, she said.
