In Idemili Northampton Local Government Area of Anambra, a soap factory and plastic dumping ground along Amanato Street, Ugwuagba Obosi, have been entirely destroyed by fire.
Anambra Fire Service Chief Officer Mr. Chukwudi Chiketa verified this situation to reporters in Onitsha.
As per Chiketa, at 1:40 am, the Anambra Fire Service was notified of a fire outbreak in a small soap factory and plastic waste site located on Amanato Street, prompting a distress call.
“The state firefighters and a fire truck were deployed immediately to the incident scene.
“They fought and contained the fire and prevented it from hitting a four-storey building,” he said.
He claimed there was no loss of life, and the fire’s source was yet unknown.
He stated that around 03:40 am, the firefighters left the incident scene.
He advised on how to avoid fire mishaps by taking safeguards.
