First Bank of Nigeria Limited has launched its fifth fully automated branch, the FirstBank Digital Xperience Centre, located at Admiralty Way, Lekki, Lagos. The centre was inaugurated yesterday, with CEO, FirstBank Group, Olusegun Alebiosu, stating that “the future of banking is digital” and the bank is committed to staying ahead of the competition with innovative products.

“The brick-and-mortar banking is fast giving way to digital financial services,” Alebiosu said. “The Digital Xperience Centre is a significant leap by FirstBank towards revolutionising the banking industry in the country.” He described the centre as a “state-of-the-art hub” that provides customers with world-class innovative banking services.

Alebiosu noted that the centre is designed to cater to the evolving needs of consumers and the banking public, enabling customers to navigate the digital landscape with confidence. “The initiative aligns with our commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences and staying at the forefront of financial innovation,” he said.

The CEO emphasised that the new generation of bank customers will be more familiar with digital banking, citing the increasing use of Point of Sale (PoS) terminals, Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD), bank transfers, and mobile banking. “Even suya sellers and retail businesses have embraced digital banking,” he said

Alebiosu stated that the launch of the Digital Xperience Centre marks a significant milestone for the bank. “It is a state-of-the-art facility, and technology remains the backbone of financial services. We want to make banking very easy for our customers.”

Group Head, Branch Operations and Services (Lagos & West), Abimbola Kunle-Ajayi, assured that transactions at the Digital Xperience Centre are safe and secure. “We have taken steps to ensure that customers’ accounts are protected,” she said. “Beyond biometrics, we also have One Time Password (OTP) to ensure the security of every transaction.”

Kunle-Ajayi noted that customers can carry out various transactions at the centre, including requesting e-payment cards, making cash withdrawals, and depositing cash. “The turnaround time has also improved for customers using the Xperience Centres,” she said
