The Neighbourhood Care Well Foundation has marked a significant milestone, celebrating 25 years of providing vital support to vulnerable communities in Cross River, Akwa Ibom, and Rivers states. Since its inception, the foundation has empowered an impressive 30,000 children and 7,000 families through its various programmes.
Dr Victoria Emah-Emah, Executive Director of the foundation, shared the organisation’s remarkable achievements during an event in Calabar on Monday. “Over the last 25 years, over 30,000 children have benefitted from our educational, health, shelter, and vocational skills programmes,” she revealed.

The foundation’s impact extends beyond children, with over 5,000 households receiving mini-grants and income training. Dr Emah-Emah emphasised, “We have supported over 5,000 households with mini grants and income training, and about 7,000 families have benefitted from our work in the last 25 years.”
As the foundation looks to the future, Dr Emah-Emah reaffirmed its commitment to advocating for the rights of women, children, and youths in vulnerable communities. “We will remain unrelenting and keep standing for the rights of women, children, and youths in vulnerable communities.”
The Neighbourhood Care Well Foundation has been able to achieve its goals thanks to the support of its partners, who have provided capacity training and resources. Dr Emah-Emah expressed her gratitude, saying, “We appreciate our partners who have provided capacity training and resources to actualise our programmes.”
As a women-based and non-profit organisation, the foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls. Dr Emah-Emah disclosed, “We are determined to improve the lives of women and girls by 50 per cent through social justice and strategic leadership.”
The 25th-anniversary celebration, themed “Celebrating 25th Anniversary of Helping People and Changing Lives”, served as a testament to the foundation’s unwavering commitment to creating positive change in the lives of those it serves.
