The Moses Adekoyejo Majekodunmi Foundation has graduated 150 youths, mainly women, in various skills across diverse fields, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to the country’s gross domestic product. Speaking at the 10th anniversary of the foundation in Abeokuta, the executive secretary, Mr. Richard Uwayzor, disclosed that the program addresses the critical need for skills development among out-of-school girls, emphasizing comprehensive training in various trades.

“A key highlight of the program’s success is that a significant majority of its past beneficiaries have gone on to establish and successfully operate their businesses, a testament to the effectiveness of the training and the resilience of the young women,” Uwayzor said. The Ogun State government has commended the foundation for its outstanding contributions to the improvement of primary school education in the state through the organization of a creativity challenge. The Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, lauded the foundation for partnering with the government to provide young ones with a solid foundation for a brighter tomorrow. “As we applaud the winners today, let us remember that every idea matters, every voice counts, and every spark of creativity can light the way to something extraordinary,” Arigbabu said.

The foundation has also called on individuals and corporate bodies to complement the government’s efforts in developing the primary school education sector. Uwayzor stated, “At this very basic level of education, the minds of these children are still very fresh; it’s their formative years, and their brains are also open to great ideas, so any investment that will help catch them young and provide a very strong foundation and sense of direction for a great future deserves the support of all”.
