Foundation’s Free Medical Outreach Benefits over 100 Residents in Ile-Ife

The Femi Olutoye Foundation, a non-governmental organization, recently organized a medical outreach in Ile-Ife, Osun State, benefiting over 100 residents. The event, held at the Ooni of Ife’s palace, included medical screenings such as vital signs checks, malaria tests, diabetes/sugar tests, and hepatitis B tests.

According to Dr. Sidiq Taofeeq, the foundation manager, “The founder of this outreach has a history of providing free healthcare to the community. We have held different outreaches in the past, and now we are here in Ile-Ife to provide the same service for the people freely.” The outreach initially targeted staff and palace members but eventually expanded to include residents of the community.

The foundation provided beneficiaries with free medical screenings and drugs. Dr. Taofeeq emphasized the importance of good health and regular checks, stating that “we will be screening beneficiaries of the outreach for vital signs, malaria tests, diabetes/sugar, and hepatitis B tests, and at the same time provide them with drugs.”

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, represented by the Sooko Omoniyi Ile-Ife, Dr. Kemade Elugbaju, commended the founder of the foundation, urging other well-meaning Nigerians to follow suit. He said, “This initiative is excellent, and the Femi Olutoye Foundation deserves commendation. Other well-meaning Nigerians should follow suit.”

The Ooni of Ife also advised beneficiaries to utilize the opportunity and make proper use of the drugs provided, stating, “I urge beneficiaries of this event to utilize this opportunity, they should make sure they use the drugs given to them and not because they didn’t pay for them, abandon them at home.
