Three additional female passengers have passed away in the hospital as a result of their injuries sustained in Tuesday’s collision at the Ntigha axis of the Enugu-Aba-Port Harcourt Expressway in Abia State, according to confirmation from the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC.

This raises the total number of victims to four from the one listed in the previous official record.

The revised report was received following a follow-up conducted by the Command at the hospital, according to Mrs. Ngozi Ezeoma, the Sector Commander of FRSC in Abia State, who confirmed the news to ZINGTIE on Thursday.

“Our hospital follow-up further confirmed that three other female adults later died in the hospital, making the number four,” Ezeoma told ZINGTIE.

According to information obtained, the 18-seater commercial vehicle was traveling to Aba from Ebonyi State when one of its tires blew.

The bus and its occupants were thrown into the bush by the abrupt tyre failure. Numerous people were seriously hurt as the bus repeatedly crashed.

The remaining passengers are being treated in the hospital in the interim.
