Dangote, NNPC CEOs unite to drive Nigeria’s economic growth

Aliko Dangote, President/Chief Executive Officer of the Dangote Group, paid a courtesy visit to Bayo Ojulari, Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), in Abuja. The meeting, held at the NNPC Towers, focused on promoting mutually beneficial partnerships and fostering healthy competition between Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals and NNPC Ltd.

The high-level meeting aimed to strengthen Nigeria’s energy security and accelerate economic prosperity. It marked the first official engagement between both parties since Ojulari’s appointment as NNPC’s CEO, following the removal of Mele Kyari in April.

Relations between the Dangote Group and NNPC had grown tense in recent months due to the troubled implementation of the naira-for-crude oil deal. However, sources revealed that the agreement was revived under the new leadership, leading to a drop in petrol prices.

During the visit, Dangote emphasized the importance of collaboration, stating, “I am very impressed by the quality and experience of the new team. I believe we can work together to achieve great things for the country.

Ojulari praised Dangote as a humble African leader, saying, “Dangote is a humble African leader whose achievements have continued to inspire pride across the continent.” He also noted that NNPC Ltd. is focused on delivering excellence in the energy sector for the benefit of all Nigerians.

Both leaders agreed to serve as direct relationship managers for their respective organizations, vowing to pursue sustained, productive collaboration and healthy competition in the national interest.
