Gary Neville has backed Xabi Alonso to add four more players to the Chelsea FC squad.

Alonso has been confirmed as the new Blues manager and will officially begin the role on July 1.

However, the former Real Madrid CF boss has already outlined plans on how to strengthen the squad.

Neville believes Alonso will move for a new goalkeeper, a centre forward and a centre-back.

He said on Sky Sports: “So the first thing I think Xabi Alonso will do, he will want a new goalkeeper, a centre back and a centre forward with experience.

“They’ve got some experience in central midfielder with Moisés Caicedo, Enzo Fernández and Roméo Lavia, so they can keep those together and they’ve got something there.”
