A rising diplomatic isolation of Israel has drawn worries from the United States of America.

According to Jake Sullivan, national security adviser to President Joe Biden, Israel is becoming more and more isolated among nations that have historically supported it.

Following the decisions by Ireland, Spain, and Norway to formally recognise Palestine as a state next week, Sullivan made this statement during a news briefing at the White House on Wednesday.

Additionally, keep in mind that the International Criminal Court, or ICC, decided to request an arrest warrant for Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel, due to Israeli conduct in Gaza.

Asked if he was concerned about Israel’s diplomatic isolation, Sullivan responded, “As a country that stands strong in defense of Israel in international forums like the United Nations, we certainly have seen a growing chorus of voices, including voices that had previously been in support of Israel, drift in another direction.

“That is of concern to us because we do not believe that that contributes to Israel’s long-term security or vitality … So that’s something we have discussed with the Israeli government.”
