Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has approved two new revenue legislation aimed at increasing state revenue and improving tax collection transparency.
The statutes include the Kogi State Internal Revenue Service Establishment Law, 2025, and the Kogi State Taxes and Levies (Approved List for Collection) Law, 2025.
During the signing on Thursday, Governor Ododo stated that both laws are digital and technology-driven, with the goal of reducing human influence and improving accountability.
Governor Ododo stated that the laws exclude individuals earning less than N800,000 per year from taxes and make it simpler for businesses to invest by simplifying processes and lowering compliance expenses.
“The purpose of these laws is to strengthen our economy, ensure fairness, and protect the dignity of our citizens,” he emphasized.
