Cross River State Governor Bassey Otu, the leader of the national ruling party in Nigeria’s South South geopolitical zone, has promised that the APC will undoubtedly win the remaining three states held by the opposition, Peoples Democratic Party, and PDP.
Governor Otu stressed that Delta and Edo States now proudly fly the progressive flag alongside Cross River, which for many years was the only APC-governed state in the South-South.
Remember that yesterday, Governor Otu, Vice President Shettima Kashim, and APC national chairman Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje formally received Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, into the APC family.
Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, and Rivers State are currently the three PDP-ruled states; however, due to Governor Sim Fubara’s suspension, they are currently under the emergency control of a single administrator for a period of six months.
Otu stated on his return to Calabar, the capital of Cross River, “An increasing number of South-South states under APC governance is a dream realized.”
The eventual acquisition of the remaining three states, according to Governor Otu, will pave the way for increased political stability, quicker economic growth, and closer regional cooperation.
Governor Oborevwori, other political heavyweights, and their followers who have since joined the APC were urged by Otu, who is also the Vice Chairman of the South-South Governors’ Forum, to use their extensive experience and capacity for grassroots mobilization to further the group’s shared goal of a prosperous South-South and a revitalized Nigeria.
Governor Otu promised that the APC would, “the six states shall chart a new course of greatness for the region and our nation.”
