Over 22 political heavyweights from the opposition parties and their supporters met with Kaudna State Governor Uba Sani at the All Progressives Congress (APC) zonal rally on Friday in Kafanchan.

Political heavyweights from all around the state as well as thousands of APC supporters from Southern Kaduna attended the event.

The decampees included state house of assembly lawmakers, previous council chairs, state party chairman, opposition party flag bearers, and current and past federal parliamentarians.

Sen. Danjuma Laar, the former senator from zone 3, Godfrey Gaiya, a former member of the House of Representatives, and Ado Audu, a three-time member of the House of Representatives, were among those who departed the PDP.

Amos Magaji, who represented Zangon Kataf/Jaba Federal Constituency, and Donatus Mathew, who represented Kaura Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, both defected to the APC.

Other state lawmakers were Mr. Emmanuel Kantiok of Zonkwa Constituency, Samuel Kambai of Zango Constituency, and Henry Zakarieh of Jaba Constituency.

Additionally, former Kauru Local Government Chairman Paul Wani, former Vice Chairman Sunday Baba, and former Council Chairman Mikiah Tokwak of Jemaa Local Government all joined the APC.

In a similar vein, Shehu Tafarke, the former PDP chairman of Kagarko Local Government, Ben Kure, the former NNPP state chairman, and his successor, Nuhu Audu, as well as Isah Ciroma, the state chairman of the Labour Party, are now members of the APC.

Sani, who spoke at the occasion, clarified that the APC was now occupying Southern Kaduna which used to be the political enclave of PDP as his administration was anchored on justice.
