Nasarawa State’s Youth O’clock Advancement Association, which promotes youth leadership and development, has urged Governor Abdullahi Sule to designate young people who have demonstrated their value as commissioners in his government.
Their request was made in response to Governor Sule’s recent dissolution of his cabinet, which included the Secretary to the State Government. A new team will be formed in a few weeks to increase productivity and guarantee improved performance.
Usman Adamu Galadima, the association’s state coordinator, told reporters in Lafia on Monday that youth participation in governance was essential to the country’s development. According to him, young people are important development pillars who ought to be included in cabinets to make the biggest possible contribution to the Sule-led government.
“To this effect, Youth O’clock Nigeria, a vibrant and all-inclusive movement in the cause of youths, hereby strongly advocates for the inclusion of highly reputable, capable, and innovative youths in the forthcoming Executive Council; this would ensure inclusiveness, productivity, tolerance, and equity in the administration,” Galadima said.
He claimed that this kind of youth involvement in politics would help develop a new generation of capable leaders who are equipped to assume responsibility and guide the state into the future.
He also reaffirmed that in order to ensure effective and productive government, cabinet members should be chosen based on their qualifications, exposure, experience, dedication, and honesty.
