Three drivers were kidnapped by armed persons on Monday night in Kogi State’s Okehi Local Government Area along the Okene–Kabba road.

Zagazola Makama was informed by security sources that the assault happened at approximately 10 p.m. when the attackers used firewood to obstruct the highway, causing cars to stop.

Salihu Abdulmumuni of Usugwe Estate, a relative of one of the victims, informed police that his father, Salihu Salaudeen, was one of the people taken.

Three abandoned cars, one a Dyna 200 registered LKJ 389 GYE, were later found at the area by police officers.

The abducted drivers were identified by preliminary investigation as Ibrahim Muritala of Lagos, Shaibu Mohammed of Okene, and Salihu Salaudeen of Usugwe.

The cars were taken to the police station for storage, and three empty cartridge shells were also found.
