A Nigerian woman has expressed concern that dangerous medications disguising as candy are allegedly entering schools throughout the nation and has advised parents to exercise caution.
In a post on the social media site X, which was formerly known as Twitter, the worried individual disclosed that they had heard of a hazardous candy-like material that could hurt children.
She warned that this substance, known as “strawberry quick” or “strawberry meth,” supposedly comes in numerous flavors, including chocolate, peanut butter, cola, cherry, grape, and orange.
Acknowledging her worries, she wrote:“I hear it has found its way into Nigerian schools. I hope it’s a hoax, but it’s better to be safe than sorry.”
“Please instruct your children not to accept candy from strangers or even from friends who may have unknowingly received it, thinking it’s harmless. Encourage them to report any suspicious candies to a teacher or principal. Let’s prevent any tragedies from occurring.”
She also emphasised the value of exercising caution and asked parents to teach children about the risks of accepting candies.
