Fabio Capello, who managed Real Madrid in the past, stated that Cristiano Ronaldo does not measure up to Lionel Messi, Diego Maradona, and Ronaldo Nazario.

The Portuguese player is regarded as one of the greatest footballers in history, with some believing he is the greatest of all time due to his achievements in the sport.

During an appearance on the Hat-trick show on the Egyptian channel ON Sport, Capello discussed what sets Cristiano Ronaldo apart from other elite players in the sport.

The former Italian coach stated that he believes Messi, Maradona, and the Brazilian Ronaldo surpass the Portuguese player due to their ‘genius’ skills, which he lacks.

“Cristiano is a top goal-scorer and a fantastic athlete, but he doesn’t have the special talent of Messi, Maradona, or Ronaldo Nazario.

“The cleverness that the others had is missing in Cristiano. He can’t be compared to those three,” he said via Kooora.com.

After a successful coaching career, during which he worked with Ronaldo Nazario at Real Madrid, Fabio Capello retired from coaching in 2018.

He gained notoriety for attempting to secure an 18-year-old Messi for Juventus after Messi had played 25 minutes for Barcelona in a friendly against Juve.

Ronaldo has frequently stated in interviews that he is the greatest football player of all time.

The player from the Portugal national team, at the age of 41, is only 39 goals away from being the first athlete to reach 1,000 official goals.
