On the day of his wedding, a man left the ceremony and later disclosed the reason for his actions, which has sparked controversy online.

The tale, first posted on X (formerly Twitter), recounted how one event at the location altered his perspective on marriage.

The man stated that the problems started while they were getting ready for family photos. He mentioned that his wife’s mother shouted at her husband in public for being slow.

The groom asserted that her way of addressing her husband was a cause for concern for him.

“On my wedding day, my wife’s mother yelled at her husband because he was lagging behind for family pictures,”he wrote.

He stated that the occurrence caused him to be afraid for his future.

“I called my best man to the corner and told him I’m cancelling the wedding. Because if her mother can talk down on her husband in such a manner in public. I’m afraid her daughter (my wife) will do worse,” he stated.

The man clarified that he devised an excuse to exit the venue without arousing suspicion.

“I pretended to answer a troubling call and left the venue. Told them I needed to pick up the ring,” he wrote.

“Turned off my phone. Till the next day. The marriage ended,”he added.
