Cristiano Ronaldo has topped the newly released list of the top 100 highest-paid athletes globally, earning $100 million more than second-placed basketball legend Stephen Curry.
Ronaldo’s spot at the top comes as no surprise, as he joined Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr in 2023 on a free transfer, securing a massive deal worth around $215 million annually, tax-free. His total earnings reach $260 million, including $45 million in endorsements, cementing his status as the highest-earning athlete.
In comparison, Curry, who ranks second, earned $153.8 million, over $100 million less than Ronaldo. Other athletes making up the top positions include heavyweight boxer Tyson Fury in third with $147 million and football icon Lionel Messi in fourth place with $135 million.
Other top earners include LeBron James ($133.2 million), Neymar ($133 million), Oleksandr Usyk ($122 million), Karim Benzema ($116 million), and Kylian Mbappé ($110 million).
Football stars Erling Haaland, Mohamed Salah, Vinicius Jr., Riyad Mahrez, Sadio Mane, and Harry Kane also feature on the list with earnings ranging from $70 million to $39.5 million.
Kevin De Bruyne is the last footballer on the list, occupying the 89th spot with $39.5 million.
