A former governor of Kano State, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has issued a stern warning to Nafiu Bala, the factional National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), about the potential consequences of his actions.

Kwankwaso cautioned that any move by Bala to impede the progress of the party could create significant problems for him, as there are ongoing leadership issues within the opposition group.

In an interview with DCL Hausa, he stressed the importance of unity and collective effort within the party.

According to Kwankwaso: “He needs to understand that millions of people have signed up; a party that started small has become much bigger because important leaders came on board with a goal to do what’s best for the country.”

“If he keeps getting in the way of that progress, it will turn into a major issue for him.”

Kwankwaso also pointed out that attempts to resolve the disagreement ceased when Bala failed to attend a scheduled meeting.

“We had planned to meet yesterday, but even after waiting until the morning, he didn’t come.”

“I had been told he wouldn’t show up, and his not being there is really upsetting,” he said.

He further warned that Bala’s actions could have a detrimental effect on both the party and Nigeria’s democracy.

He added, “In our current national situation, our party and our democracy don’t need someone acting like ‘the lizard at the mouth of the water pot.’”
