Ajayi Crowther University in Oyo, Nigeria, has appointed Professor Ebunoluwa Olufemi Oduwole as its first female Vice-Chancellor, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s history. With over 39 years of experience in university administration, Professor Oduwole brings exceptional leadership skills and expertise to her new role.

Professor Oduwole’s academic background is impressive, with a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Ibadan, a Master of Science in Bioethics from a consortium of European universities, including Katholieke University, Leuven (Belgium), Radboud University, Nijmegen (Netherlands), and the University of Padova (Italy), and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Ibadan.
Her administrative experience spans several leadership positions at Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), including serving as Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor, Administration. She has also been an active member of the Senate and Governing Council of OOU and has served on various strategic committees within the university system and beyond, including the University of Ibadan, University of Lagos, Lagos State University, and Osun State University.

As a member of the Governing Council of Ajayi Crowther University and the Church of Nigeria Theological Accreditation and Regulatory Board, Professor Oduwole’s appointment promises a new chapter of visionary leadership and a historic milestone for the university. She will succeed Professor Timothy Adebayo, whose five-year tenure as Vice-Chancellor concludes soon.
