The Gamesville Foundation has made a significant donation of N15 million to five non-governmental organisations (NGOs) dedicated to supporting vulnerable children and communities across Nigeria. This generous contribution was facilitated through a fundraising gala held in Lagos, which brought together influential individuals, sponsors, and social impact leaders for an evening of entertainment and philanthropy.

The five selected NGOs, each receiving N3 million, are:
1. Street Child Care and Welfare Initiative
2. Jakin NGO
3. Echoes of Mercy and Hope Foundation
4. Diocesan Special Education Centre
5. Society for the Empowerment of Young Persons
These organizations focus on crucial areas such as child protection, rehabilitation of abuse survivors, and education for children with disabilities
The fundraising gala, aptly themed “Mystery at Abby Manor and Casino,” featured an array of engaging activities, including interactive games, a murder mystery experience, a casino setup, and a captivating opera performance. The event also included a keynote address by Eden Onwuka, a two-time cancer survivor and advocate, who inspired guests with her story.
Expressing gratitude for the support, Oluwafunmilayo Adedokun, matron of Echoes of Mercy and Hope Foundation, said, “We bless God that God has been so wonderful using people like The Gamesville Foundation to come to our help, to our aid, and give a second chance to girls like this that want to go to school.”
This initiative marks the foundation’s second major fundraising effort. The inaugural gala in 2019 raised N6 million for three NGOs, providing essential funding for school fees and educational materials for underprivileged children.
Lekan Akinyanmi, CEO of LEKOIL Nigeria Limited and recipient of the Crown of Generosity Award, emphasised the importance of consistent giving, stating, “There’s never a perfect time to give. There will always be competing responsibilities. But choosing to help others consistently is how we build stronger communities.”
The Gamesville Foundation has established strong partnerships, including one with an anonymous donor who has generously contributed over N20 million in scholarships for indigent children.
