Dr. Abbas Adio Adeyemi Adebowale, a consultant orthopedic surgeon and former Chief Medical Director of Kaiama General Hospital, has been arrested in a shocking case from Kwara State, Nigeria, for the alleged murder of several people, including his girlfriend and a housewife.

Reports state that Dr. Adebowale was arrested in Edo State in relation to the murder of Emmanuel Yobo Agbovinuere, a taxi driver whose body was discovered on the Benin-Lagos highway.

Following his arrest, subsequent investigations led police to Kaiama General Hospital, where the decomposed bodies of two women were discovered buried within the hospital facilities.

One of the victims, identified as Nofisat Halidu was reported missing in November 2021. In the hospital’s store, her body was discovered hidden in a cement-filled garbage bin.

Ifeoluwa, another victim, was discovered buried in a shallow grave on the hospital grounds. She was thought to be the doctor’s girlfriend.

According to the Kwara State Police Command, Dr. Adebowale admitted to the murders, which included the two women and the cab driver. He also claimed to being involved in organ harvesting, allegedly selling human organs to unidentified individuals.

Concerns regarding the ethics and safety of the medical field have been raised by this case, which has shocked Nigeria. The public has been asked by authorities to be on guard and report any suspicious activity.

The full scope of Dr. Adebowale’s alleged offenses is still being investigated, and he is now being held by the authorities. The public has been reassured by the Kwara State Police Command that justice will be done.
