Goodluck Jonathan, the former president, has said that he was deceived when running for reelection in 2015.

Jonathan made the statement at Chief Mike Aiyegbeni Oghiadomhe’s 70th birthday celebration in Benin, the capital of Edo State.

He stated that Oghiadomhe is among his few pals who are willing to put themselves at danger for him.

“Politics in the Nigerian standard is about betrayals,” said the former President of Nigeria.

“I have witnessed a lot of betrayal during the 2015 election. You will find it difficult to see somebody who says the same thing in the morning, in the afternoon and in the evening.”

From 2010 to 2014, Oghiadomhe was the Chief of Staff under Jonathan’s administration.

There has been a lot of conjecture lately that the former president would run for office in 2027 on the banner of the Peoples Democratic Party, or PDP. He hasn’t yet verified the reports, though.
