The University of Arkansas in Fayetteville has received a substantial $5 million gift from Chris and Jamie Fowler, dedicated to supporting the Land of Opportunity Scholarship endowment. This three-year initiative, launched in November 2024, aims to enhance educational access for students from all 75 counties in Arkansas.
The scholarship program seeks to foster partnerships between the university and businesses across the state while fulfilling the institution’s land-grant mission to uplift Arkansas. The Fowlers have a history of supporting the university, having previously contributed to the renovation of the David W. Mullins Library and various athletic department initiatives, including the Fowler Family Baseball and Track Training Center and the Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium renovation and expansion
Chris Fowler, who retired as president of Fowler Foods in 2021, and his wife Jamie have demonstrated their commitment to the university’s mission. UA Chancellor Charles Robinson expressed his gratitude, stating, “The Fowler family’s generosity has shaped our campus in countless ways. With their support of the Land of Opportunity Scholarship, Chris and Jamie are continuing that incredible legacy, providing deserving students with the resources they need to succeed and making a lasting impact on our institution and our state.
