Donald Trump has stated that the ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran could extend for up to three more weeks.
Trump made the disclosure during an interview on Monday.
He declined to clarify whether the ceasefire with Iran had collapsed after Tehran reportedly launched attacks targeting the United Arab Emirates, but suggested that the war may continue for another two to three weeks.
“Well, I can’t tell you that. We either make the right deal or we win very easily. From the military standpoint, we’ve already won that.
“You know, you’ve heard me say it a million times, and other people say it. They had 159 ships. Hugh, now they have none. They’re all at the bottom of the sea,” Trump said.
The president, however, avoided confirming whether Iran had breached the ceasefire, stating “we’ll see what happens” while highlighting the strength of US military capabilities.
According to him, the conflict could likely continue for another two to three weeks, stressing that there is no strict timeline guiding the operation.
“This war could stretch 3 more weeks. Time is not of the essence for us,” Trump added.
